Note from Mike – Celebrating the Hope of Easter

March 28, 2016

Dear Church Family,

What an outstanding Easter weekend!

Thank you to each one who volunteered and helped make our services on Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday such an incredible expression of God’s love for us. Because Jesus defeated our enemy through His perfect sacrifice on the cross and rose again with the keys of death, hell and the grave, we have unshakeable hope and the promise of eternal life. Now that’s Good News!

On the Thursday before Easter, I had a conversation with one of our dear staff members, Charlene Pendergast, who had been battling cancer for over a year. I asked her, “Wonder what Easter is like in heaven?” Early Saturday morning, Char went home to be with the Lord. Now she knows the answer!

Many of you were touched by Char’s life through her faithful service here at the front desk and through her involvement in many ministries. She truly loved God and loved people. We grieve this tremendous loss for our church family. Yet, we celebrate her ultimate healing and look forward to sharing eternity with her. The family will receive friends tonight from 5pm to 7pm at J Henry Stuhr Northwoods Chapel. We will celebrate her life with a service here at the church this Tuesday at 11am.

Jesus said, The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10). I do hope you will join us this Sunday as we begin our new series, ExitUs, the journey of getting outside ourselves and into the promises of God.

Doing Life Together!
