DAP/how children learn
Each child has their own style of learning and interests. To meet children’s individual needs our teachers implement developmentally appropriate practices. This means teaching in ways that match the way children learn and develop. Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP) are activities and skills that meet a child’s current development and scaffold age appropriate learning. Making developmentally appropriate experiences available to children has profound implications for their education. Intelligence and cognitive skills develop from these experiences, which provide the building blocks of thinking and learning.
